Course Description:

Create meaningful, handmade greeting cards while learning watercolor and mixed media techniques you can use again and again. In this 3-hour class, Celeste will guide you through the fundamentals of watercolor, including painting trees, mountains, atmospheric perspective, and thoughtful composition.

Spend an inspiring afternoon exploring creativity as you design cards for loved ones—perfect for special occasions or as keepsakes they can frame and treasure.

Materials: 

• Watercolor greeting cards (blank)
• Watercolor paints (a set with a built-in mixing tray or palette is recommended)
  • If your set does not include one, please bring a separate mixing tray or palette
• Paint brushes:
  • Rigger brush (size 3)
  • Round brushes (size 6, 10, or 12)
  • Flat or angled brush (½” or 1″)

Optional:

• Fine white pastel pencil or acrylic paint marker (for highlights and details)

Meet the Artist: 

Celeste Drewien is a New Mexico artist who works in watercolor, oil, and acrylic. Her paintings often feature landscapes and florals, capturing the beauty of color, light, and natural forms. Drawing inspiration from both realism and expressive color, she creates artwork that is both inviting and visually engaging. From time to time, animals and figures also make an appearance in her work, adding an extra layer of personality and charm.
