About the Artist:

Catherine Loweree Williams discovered her passion for weaving and fiber arts while pursuing her master’s degree in Art Education. What began as a lifelong habit of tying knots as a child unexpectedly became the foundation for her work as a weaver. Having painted and drawn for most of her life, Catherine brings a distinctly painterly sensibility to her woven pieces, blending color, texture, and composition with an artist’s eye.

Her work is deeply inspired by memories of time spent in nature. An avid hiker and traveler with a love for wide-open skies, Catherine seeks to capture the quiet sense of peace that comes from being outdoors. Her artistic voice is also shaped by her upbringing in the border city of El Paso, Texas, her Mexican-American heritage, and her 13 years as an art educator working with students in Albuquerque.

*This workshop is held in our downstairs classroom, which is not accessible to wheelchairs and some other mobility devices.
